DNA and Drug Testing Services is a comprehensive DNA testing company combining the expertise of a locally owned office with state-of-the-art services at the most reasonable prices. Our DNA testing services include the following tests:
Paternity Test – Legal or Peace of Mind
A DNA paternity test determines whether a tested man is the biological father of a tested child. Our legal DNA test provides proper documentation to present as evidence in a court of law or government office. Our certified collectors follow strict chain of custody protocols. You receive a notarized test report with the legal test.
If you do not require a legal DNA test and are testing for personal knowledge, we offer the standard test for peace of mind purposes. We also have a paternity test kit for home use. However, the results for these DNA tests are typically not court admissible. Results for standard DNA testing are available in 3-4 business days. Rush service is also available to get results in two business days.
If any of the tested parties are out of the area, we can arrange to have their sample collected in the area that they reside. If any of the proposed tested parties cannot be found, is deceased or is unwilling to participate in the test, there are other options available for sample collection. Call or email us and we can discuss your personal situation.
Prenatal Paternity Test – Non-invasive
A cell-free circulating fetal DNA is accessed through a blood draw from the mother which, combined with a buccal swab from the alleged father, determines paternity of the unborn child. This test can be performed as early as the 8th week of pregnancy up through delivery of the baby. This is the safest method available for prenatal paternity testing. There is no risk involved. Results are available in one week.
A siblingship test determines whether a brother and sister or two brothers or two sisters are half siblings or full siblings. Whereas a paternity test or maternity test will typically test 26 markers, a siblingship test will test 44 markers in the testing process. A legal test or a peace of mind test is available with the same test result time frames as a paternity test.
A grandpaternity test determines whether a grandmother or a grandfather is the biological grandmother or grandfather of a tested child. Whereas a paternity test or maternity test will typically test 26 markers, a siblingship test will test 44 markers in the testing process. A legal test or a peace of mind test is available with the same test result time frames as a paternity test.
A maternity test determines whether a tested woman is the biological mother of a tested child. As with the paternity test, a legal test or a peace of mind test is available. Everything that is true for a paternity test as far as testing procedures and test result time frames applies to a maternity test.
Other Genetic Family Tests
Families have unique situations in which testing may require DNA samples from various family members. If the alleged father is not available for testing, we can determine a family relationship by taking DNA samples from the grandparents, uncles and/or siblings. We can also use non-standard samples such as a toothbrush, cigarette butts or drinking utensils.
Immigration DNA Testing
We provide AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) accredited DNA testing for immigration purposes. We can perform paternity testing for clients in the United States and nearly 200 countries worldwide(typically involving the sponsor and beneficiary). This testing follows the specific requirements set by the government agencies in each country. Our laboratory meets the requirements for an immigration paternity test as proscribed by the Department of Homeland Security.
Our forensic DNA services include STR, Y-STR, mtDNA casework and forensic paternity testing. We can also provide case review and consultation services for attorneys. Tests typically take 2-3 weeks before results are available.
Ancestry and Ethnicity Profiling
With our ancestry test, you can determine your biogeographical ancestry. The DNA profile obtained through a buccal swab can statistically indicate the ethnic origin of an individual. We will reveal how your heritage has been derived from one or more of the founder groups that gave rise to present day Europeans, Indigenous Americans, Africans and East Asians. This test can provide you a better understanding of your genetic ancestry.
Infidelity DNA testing can be used to determine marital or relationship infidelity. During and after sexual activity, semen can be deposited on undergarments, bed sheets, clothing, upholstery and other surfaces. Sperm can last as long as 3-5 days in the vagina and remain identifiable for years as a dried stain. Tests can be performed to detect either semen or a DNA profile on the submitted sample. The DNA profile can be compared to another DNA profile. Results are available in 3-4 business days or in two days with the rush service.
Chorionic Villus Sampling
A CVS procedure involves a doctor collecting a small piece of placenta tissue through vaginal or adbominal collection between the 9th and 13th week of pregnancy. The tissue contains fetal cells for the child. One milliliter of tissue is required for paternity testing purposes. This procedure carries a higher risk of miscarriage than an amniocentesis.
An amniocentesis is performed between the 14th and 24th week of pregnancy when chromosome analysis for medical diagnostics purposes is required. However, for paternity testing purposes, an amniocentesis can be performed any time after the 14th week of pregnancy. 14-17 milliliters of amniotic fluid is required for this procedure which while less risky than Chorionic Villus Sampling, does have some risk.
